From our test notes: 2026-10-14 root cause FOUND by sandbox A/B: the 'Overworld settings missing' datapack death is NOT a mod bug — it is the aftermath of a kernel cgroup OOM during worldgen at the 8-GB tier (container 6727 MB, heap 6144M + Aikar AlwaysPreTouch → anon-RSS 6.87 GB > 6.72 GB ceiling; dmesg oom-kill, java killed mid-datapack-load → half-initialized world with no world_gen_settings.dat). The pack itself boots cleanly: bare JVM 2 GB (29 s) / 6 GB (38 s), and docker prod-sim at 5376M heap (Done 55.9 s). Lithostitched/biolith removal dead ends (underground_rivers + abridged require lithostitched >= 1.7.9). Live fix: customer VM env MEMORY 6144→5376M, MODS=fabric-api stray env removed, fresh world → Done (27.1 s), unit active, port 25565 listening. RAM floor for this pack: 10 GB container / ~5.4-6 GB heap.
