What it does

Live Modrinth catalogue

Search thousands of modpacks live from modrinth.com — filter by loader and Minecraft version, install with one click.

Vanilla, Fabric, Forge, NeoForge & Quilt

All five loader families work out of the box. The launcher handles loader installation, classpath setup and JVM args automatically.

Your library, on disk

Installed packs live in My Modpacks with version, RAM, install date and quick-play actions. Real filesystem, real folders.

Sign in with Microsoft

Link your Microsoft account once — your Minecraft profile follows the launcher across reboots. Required for online play.

CoalHosting servers built in

If you also host with us, your servers show up in the Servers tab with auto-fix history and an LLM-powered pack-fix agent.

Free forever

No accounts required. No telemetry, no ads. The launcher exists to make modded Minecraft easier — hosting is a separate, optional product.

Every binary is served directly from coalhosting.com (CI on the private build repo produces them; we mirror each release into /downloads here so anonymous users can grab them).

Opening on macOS

The launcher isn't notarised yet, so macOS will refuse to open it on the first try. This is normal for new desktop apps — once we have a Developer ID signing certificate we'll publish a notarised build.

  1. 1Double-click the downloaded .dmg file.
  2. 2Drag CoalHost Launcher into Applications.
  3. 3Open Applications, find the launcher, Ctrl-click → Open.
  4. 4Hit Open Anyway. This is a one-time step.
