How Much RAM Does an FTB Horizons III Server Need?

FTB Horizons III's RAM needs come from Biomes O' Plenty's expanded world generation and Chocolate Quest's dungeon-filled world — not from tech automation, since this is FTB's exploration pack rather than a factory-building one. See the FTB Horizons III pack page for the full mod list. Here's how much RAM to allocate at each group size. Finnish players: Minecraft-palvelin hosting is our native-language page. German players: Minecraft-Server mieten covers the same hosting auf Deutsch. Svenska spelare: Hyra Minecraft-server täcker samma hosting på svenska.

4 GB

Bare minimum for solo play or testing the pack alone. Biomes O' Plenty's world generation and Chocolate Quest's dungeon loading will feel sluggish, and you'll have no headroom for lag spikes during dimension travel.

6 GB

The best starting point for most Horizons III servers. Covers Biomes O' Plenty's extra biomes and Chocolate Quest's dungeon spawns with enough headroom for a small group exploring and raiding together.

8 GB

Safer for a mid-size active group exploring multiple biomes and dimensions at once, where more chunks stay loaded simultaneously.

10 GB

For 10+ players or a long-running world with many explored biomes, active dungeons, and dimensions kept loaded — gives consistent headroom as the explored map grows.
