The CoalHost story.

Built by a gamer, for gamers. Here's where it comes from.

How it started

About three months ago I kept running into the same wall: Minecraft servers were either embarrassingly expensive, barely functional, or both. Every host I tried had the same problems dressed up in different pricing pages. I got frustrated enough to stop looking and start building.

The two of us

Rasmus is my best friend and one of the most technically gifted people I know. He brought the deep technical foundation. I built the product — the panel, the UI, the install pipeline, the business side, basically everything you see and use. It's been a ridiculous amount of work. It also works perfectly, which I'm unreasonably proud of.

Why EU / Finland

I live in Finland. Running servers in Europe wasn't a strategic decision — it was the obvious one. Low latency for European players, GDPR-native, and I can actually monitor the infrastructure during my own waking hours.

The whole point

CoalHost exists to give every advantage to the player. Not to the host. That means honest pricing, sixty-second modpack deploys, automatic crash recovery, and no features that exist purely to pad a marketing page. If it doesn't make your server better, it doesn't ship.
