Modpacks/Boot test failing server hosting
FTB Skies 2 Server Hosting
FTB's modern expert skyblock on NeoForge 1.21.1 — 423K downloads. The sequel to FTB Skies, designed as an expert-level skyblock with a guided quest book, tight resource loops, and heavy automation focus. Pairs with FTB Stoneblock 4 (underground start, also NeoForge 1.21.1) for two complementary FTB expert experiences on the same game version. Pick this for groups who want structured expert-mode challenge in a skyblock format rather than the kitchen-sink exploration of ATM10: To the Sky.

Most “does this modpack work on a server” answers are guesses. This one isn't: FTB Skies 2 is in our boot-tested catalog, which means we installed it end-to-end on a real VM, measured the RAM it actually needs, and recorded the mods that crash a dedicated server — then handled them automatically so your first boot doesn't hit the crashes we already found.

Common questions
How much RAM does a FTB Skies 2 server need?
We measured 8 GB as the boot floor on a real dedicated VM — not a guess. The signup flow pre-sizes to 8 GB so you can't accidentally under-provision.
Does FTB Skies 2 work on a dedicated server?
Careful — Our most recent boot test failed on 2026-10-06. The whole log, failures included, stays public on our /verified page while we work on it. The page stays up because the pack is installable and the log is public, but we are not calling it working right now.
What happens if it crashes anyway?
Every server gets automated backups plus a crash-analyzer that reads the actual log, matches it against known modpack failures and either applies the fix or restores the backup.
