How to Host an FTB Interactions Server

FTB Interactions is FTB's dungeon-crawling expert pack on Forge 1.12.2, set on the dark star Aurelia: instead of grinding through a dense crafting tree like most 1.12.2 expert packs, you scavenge dungeons for rare technology and fight unique mobs, then build your gear from what you salvage. Hosting it well comes down to sizing RAM to the pack correctly, importing the real server pack, and confirming a clean first boot before anyone logs in.

1

Start with at least 8 GB of RAM. FTB Interactions is a dungeon-crawling expert pack on Forge 1.12.2 set on the dark star Aurelia — its dungeon generation, unique mob AI, and the tech mods layered underneath all add up fast, and 8 GB is the pack's own recommended floor, not a third-party guess.

2

Import the official FTB Interactions server pack directly instead of trying to recreate the modlist from a client export. Mismatched mod or config versions between client and server are one of the most common causes of dungeon loot tables and salvage recipes behaving differently than they should.

3

Watch the console through the full first boot. With dungeon generation, custom mobs, and the salvage-based tech progression all loading at once, a single broken mod jar or missing dependency tends to surface right away in the logs — confirm the world finishes loading cleanly before moving on.

4

Only invite players once you've confirmed a clean, complete first boot. Letting people in while the pack is still sorting out its dungeon and mob registries risks corrupting the exact systems this pack is built around.

5

Take a backup before any world import, loader update, or config change. Because FTB Interactions replaces standard crafting with gear built from materials salvaged out of Aurelia's dungeons, losing a world means losing hours of dungeon-crawling progress that can't just be re-crafted from a recipe book.

Use a cleaner FTB Interactions path

CoalHost is built around modpack hosting, which makes FTB Interactions much less annoying to launch correctly.
