How to Host an Enigmatica 6 (E6) Server
Enigmatica 6 is the 1.16.5 Forge entry in the Enigmatica series, built for players who want the classic 1.16-era mod ecosystem rather than the newer Enigmatica 9 (1.19.2) line. With 250+ mods, a full in-game quest guide, and normal-mode (not expert-overhaul) recipes, it's a broad kitchen-sink pack that's forgiving to start but still heavy enough to need real server resources. Getting the loader, RAM, and first boot right up front saves you from chasing missing-mod crashes later.
Start from a 7 GB RAM floor — that's Enigmatica 6's own recommended minimum for a smooth server boot with all 250+ mods loaded, before you add headroom for more players or a larger explored world.
Import the modpack through a clean CurseForge/server-pack install rather than copying your client's mods folder — Enigmatica 6's server pack already has client-only mods stripped and server-side configs set, so a client export tends to carry over mods that will crash a dedicated server.
Watch the first boot through to the end of the Forge mod loading screen in the console logs — with 250+ mods, a single missing dependency or a config conflict will show up as a clear crash in that log, and it's much easier to fix before anyone has joined.
Only invite players once that first boot finishes clean and you can walk in and see the quest book load without errors — Enigmatica 6's progression is quest-gated, so a broken quest book or missing recipe on day one will stall the whole group.
Take a backup before importing an existing world, updating the modpack version, or touching configs — because E6 runs normal-mode recipes and a full quest line, a bad import or a loader mismatch can cost a group its entire quest progress, not just a few items.

CoalHost is built around modpack hosting, which makes Enigmatica 6 (E6) much less annoying to launch correctly.
