How to Host an Echoes of Nostalgia - Expert Server

Set your plan to at least 6 GB of RAM before the first boot — that's Echoes of Nostalgia - Expert's own recommended floor on Forge 1.20.1. Undersizing the heap is the fastest way to turn long questing sessions and stacked automation lines into constant tick lag.

Install the pack from a clean modpack import (CurseForge listing) instead of hand-copying a client export. Forge version, the full mod list, and config files all need to match exactly, since expert-mode recipe gating breaks the moment one piece is out of sync.

Watch the console on first boot until Forge finishes loading every mod and the world generates cleanly. Nostalgia-themed packs stack several older-era systems — Thaumcraft-inspired magic, Tinkers-style crafting, classic automation — and a silent mod or config mismatch on first load tends to surface later as a broken recipe rather than an obvious crash.
