How to Host a Twixxel's Stalkers Minecraft Server

Twixxel's Stalkers is a horror survival pack inspired by Twixxel's videos — atmosphere-first survival with the usual comforts stripped back, built on Forge 1.20.1. It's a different pack from Evil Hunter & Twixxel's Stalker, which specifically bundles the Evil Hunter and Twixxel's Stalker mods together; this one is a broader, creator-inspired atmosphere experience. Getting the boot sequence right matters more here than usual, since a slow or crashing first load undercuts the atmosphere before players even step outside.

1

Start with 8 GB of RAM as your floor — that's the recommended minimum for Twixxel's Stalkers on Forge 1.20.1, not a generic guess. Going lower risks world-gen stutter and chunk loading delays that break the horror pacing the pack is built around.

2

Import the modpack directly from the catalog instead of guessing from a client-side export. A clean install keeps the Forge version, mod list, and configs locked to what the pack actually ships, so you're not chasing mismatched dependency versions on day one.

3

Watch the server logs through the first boot until it finishes loading cleanly. Forge packs built around atmosphere and custom mobs tend to front-load a lot of registry and datapack work on startup — let that finish before assuming something's broken.

4

Only invite players after you've confirmed one full clean startup. Letting people in during a shaky first boot is the fastest way to turn a tense survival pack into a laggy, broken one.

5

Take a backup before importing an existing world, updating the Forge loader, or changing pack configs. Stalker-style horror packs lean on long survival runs, and losing a saved world to a bad import wipes out exactly the kind of progress players came back for.

CoalHost is built around modpack hosting, which makes Twixxel's Stalkers much less annoying to launch correctly.
