How to Host a TerraFirma: Rebirth Server (Forge 1.20.1)
TerraFirma: Rebirth is a modern rebuild of TerraFirmaCraft's geological survival, built on TerraFirmaCraft+ for Forge 1.20.1. Unlike Auto-TerraFirmaCraft — which fuses TFC with Create for automation — Rebirth keeps the focus on the core survival loop: slow stone-age progression, manual smelting, and careful resource planning, with no automation layer to lean on. Getting the server environment right matters more here, since a shaky boot or wrong RAM floor compounds an already unforgiving early game.
Start with at least 6 GB of RAM — that's TerraFirma: Rebirth's own recommended floor for TerraFirmaCraft+ on Forge 1.20.1, before you add any extra mods or a larger player count.
Import TerraFirma: Rebirth as a packaged modpack rather than rebuilding it from a client export. TerraFirmaCraft+'s world generation and config values need to match the client exactly, or players will see broken biomes, missing rock layers, or desynced tool progression.
Watch the console through first boot until the world finishes generating and TerraFirmaCraft+'s geological systems — rock layers, ore veins, climate data — report as loaded cleanly, not just until the server reaches 'Done'.
Only open the server to players after that first clean boot. TerraFirma: Rebirth's early game already punishes mistakes — stone tools, primitive fire-starting, manual smelting before iron — so a shaky server on top of that slow start will frustrate people fast.
Take a backup before every world import, loader update, or config change. Losing a TerraFirma: Rebirth world means losing hours of careful stone-age progression and resource surveying, not just some inventory items.
Use a cleaner TerraFirma: Rebirth path
CoalHost is built around modpack hosting, which makes TerraFirma: Rebirth much less annoying to launch correctly.
