How to Host a TechRevolution Server (Hard/Expert Tech Setup Guide)

TechRevolution is a Hard/Expert tech pack with 470+ mods and 4,400+ quests guiding a deliberately gated progression. Hosting it right means sizing RAM for the mod count, giving the first boot time to finish, and making sure your group knows this isn't a casual pack. Here's how to get it running.

1

Start with at least 8GB of RAM dedicated to the modpack. TechRevolution ships 470+ mods on Forge 1.19.2, and the Hard/Expert difficulty tuning adds extra tracked state (locked recipes, gated progression) on top of a normal kitchen-sink pack's memory needs.

2

Import the official server pack directly through CoalHost's panel. A 470-mod Hard/Expert pack has far more room for a subtly wrong mod version to break progression gating than a casual pack does — the real server pack removes that risk entirely.

3

Expect a longer first boot than a casual pack, and don't interrupt it. With 4,400+ quests and a deep mod list to register, TechRevolution's startup genuinely takes longer — watch for continued log output rather than assuming it's stuck.

4

Brief your group on the difficulty before the first session. Hard/Expert packs gate progression deliberately — if your group expected a casual kitchen-sink experience, the early grind will feel unexpectedly punishing without that context.

5

Take a backup before any mod or Forge update. Hard/Expert progression represents a much larger time investment per milestone than a casual pack, so the cost of losing a world to a bad update is proportionally higher here.

Use a cleaner TechRevolution path

CoalHost is built around modpack hosting, which makes TechRevolution much less annoying to launch correctly.
