How to Host a Guild Adventures Server (Fabric 1.21.1)
Guild Adventures is a guild-building RPG on Fabric 1.21.1 where players join or found an adventurer's guild, pull contracts off a shared board, and level up their character alongside their guild's rank through dungeons, monster bounties, and escort missions. Unlike a typical Fabric RPG modpack that hands you a solo quest book, Guild Adventures runs on a structured, shared-goal multiplayer loop closer to an MMORPG guild system — which makes getting the server set up right before anyone joins more important than usual.
Start from a 6 GB RAM floor. Guild Adventures recommends 6 GB as its baseline, and that's before the guild board, dungeon generation, and bounty tracking for a full roster of players are all running at once — size your plan there first, not after something starts lagging.
Import the modpack through a one-click Fabric 1.21.1 modpack installer instead of guessing the mod list from a client export. Guild Adventures' contract board and guild rank systems depend on server and client running the exact same mod set, so a mismatched manual copy breaks quest syncing in ways that are hard to diagnose later.
Watch the first boot logs until the guild board, character/guild rank progression, and dungeon generation all finish loading cleanly. This pack layers persistent guild data on top of normal world generation, so a quiet error in the logs now is a broken contract board later.
Only open the server to players once that first clean startup is confirmed. The moment players join, they start founding or joining guilds and pulling contracts off the board — there's no good way to undo that if the server needed another restart.
Back up the world before any loader update, config change, or modpack version bump. Guild Adventures ties individual character level and guild rank to persistent save data, so a failed update doesn't just risk the world — it can wipe a guild's entire reputation and contract history in one go.
Use a cleaner Guild Adventures path
CoalHost is built around modpack hosting, which makes Guild Adventures much less annoying to launch correctly.
