How to Host a Create and Guns Server

Create and Guns is a NeoForge 1.21.1 pack that pairs Create's kinetic machine chains with a modern firearms system, where weapons aren't just picked up — they're manufactured through the same automation lines you'd normally use for resource processing. Hosting it well means treating both systems as equally critical from the first boot.

1

Start with at least 6 GB of RAM allocated to the server. Create and Guns is a NeoForge 1.21.1 pack built around Create's kinetic machine chains plus a full firearms crafting layer — running both systems under-provisioned causes stutter during ammo production lines and automated weapon assembly.

2

Import the modpack directly from its original NeoForge .mrpack or CurseForge server export rather than rebuilding it from a client install — hand-copied client mod folders tend to drop server-required dependencies and leave the firearms and Create integration mods out of sync.

3

On first boot, watch the server log until both Create's kinetic block registration and the firearms mod's weapon crafting recipes finish loading cleanly — if either system throws recipe conflicts during startup, the shared crafting chains between guns and Create machines won't resolve correctly in-game.

4

Only invite players once that first boot completes without errors. Because weapon crafting in Create and Guns depends on Create's automation running correctly, a half-loaded server can leave players crafting broken or dependency-missing firearms.

5

Take a backup before importing an existing world, updating the NeoForge loader, or changing gun or Create config values — losing a world here means losing both automated factory lines and any crafted weapon progress, which takes considerably longer to rebuild than on a typical single-system modpack.

Use a cleaner Create and Guns path

CoalHost is built around modpack hosting, which makes Create and Guns much less annoying to launch correctly.
