How Much RAM Does an FTB Ultimate Reloaded Server Need?
FTB Ultimate Reloaded is the lowest-RAM pack in our FTB Ultimate Reloaded pack page catalog — a Forge 1.12.2 reimagining of the classic Ultimate pack with old-school industrial mods like IndustrialCraft, BuildCraft, EnderIO, and Thermal Expansion, and no overpowered shortcuts, just real automation chains and trains for travel. Here's how much RAM to set aside at each stage of a server's life. Finnish players: Minecraft-palvelin hosting is our native-language page. German players: Minecraft-Server mieten covers the same hosting auf Deutsch. Svenska spelare: Hyra Minecraft-server täcker samma hosting på svenska.
3 GB
Bare minimum for a solo or 2-player world. It's enough to boot FTB Ultimate Reloaded and run light IndustrialCraft and BuildCraft setups, but there's little headroom once EnderIO conduits and Thermal Expansion machine lines start stacking up.
5 GB
The best starting point for most FTB Ultimate Reloaded servers. This matches the pack's own recommended floor and covers a small group running real automation chains and rail-based travel without constant garbage-collection stutter.
7 GB
Safer for a mid-size active group — several players building out separate factory bases, running trains between them, and loading more chunks at once than a 5 GB server comfortably holds.
10 GB
For 10+ players or a long-running world with sprawling automation across multiple bases. At this scale the pack's older Forge 1.12.2 codebase is still lighter than a modern kitchen-sink pack at the same player count, but a long-lived world accumulates enough entities and machine blocks to want the extra headroom.
