How Much RAM Does a Skyward Colonies Server Need?
Skyward Colonies (see the Skyward Colonies pack page) is a Forge 1.20.1 sky-survival pack that runs Eureka's airships, Create's machinery, and MineColonies' citizens all at once, which is why its RAM floor sits a bit higher than a typical single-system Create or skyblock pack. Finnish players: Minecraft-palvelin hosting is our native-language page. German players: Minecraft-Server mieten covers the same hosting auf Deutsch. Svenska spelare: Hyra Minecraft-server täcker samma hosting på svenska.
5 GB
Bare minimum. Works for solo play or testing the pack, but Eureka airship rendering, Create's kinetic processing, and MineColonies pathfinding are all competing for the same heap — expect noticeable lag once a colony grows past a handful of citizens.
7 GB
The best starting point for most Skyward Colonies servers. This matches the pack's own recommended floor and gives Eureka, Create, and MineColonies enough headroom to run together without constant garbage-collection pauses.
10 GB
Safer for a mid-size, active group — several players building airships, running Create production lines, and growing a colony at the same time, all generating more chunks and more entities to track.
14 GB
For 10+ players or a long-running world. By this point you've likely got multiple airships, sprawling Create factories, and a large MineColonies population all loaded simultaneously, and the extra headroom keeps tick times stable as the world history piles up.
