How Much RAM Does a Life in the Village Server Need?

Life in the Village is the original low-tech village and town-building pack on Forge 1.12.2, and it's lighter on RAM than most tech- or magic-heavy modpacks of its size — here's how much you actually need. Check the Life in the Village pack page for the full modlist before you pick a tier. Finnish players: Minecraft-palvelin hosting is our native-language page. German players: Minecraft-Server mieten covers the same hosting auf Deutsch. Svenska spelare: Hyra Minecraft-server täcker samma hosting på svenska.

3 GB

Enough to boot the pack solo or with one or two friends for short sessions, but little headroom once a town starts expanding — expect slower chunk loading as more land gets settled.

5 GB

The pack's own recommended floor and the best starting point for most servers — covers a small-to-medium group building out a village without constant memory pressure.

8 GB

Safer for a mid-size active group with several players building, questing, and exploring at once, especially once the map has multiple settlements running.

12 GB

What you want for 10+ players or a world that's been running for months with sprawling towns — gives Forge and the village/town-building mods enough headroom to avoid lag as the map fills in.
