How Much RAM Does a Jurassic Terror Server Need?

Jurassic Terror is a horror-survival pack on Forge 1.20.1, and its RAM needs are shaped by the custom dinosaur AI and spawn systems that run constantly to keep the pack's aggressive, tense atmosphere going — unlike a taming-focused or park-builder dino pack, there's no lighter "management mode" to fall back on. See the Jurassic Terror pack page for the full mod list and details. Finnish players: Minecraft-palvelin hosting is our native-language page. German players: Minecraft-Server mieten covers the same hosting auf Deutsch. Svenska spelare: Hyra Minecraft-server täcker samma hosting på svenska.

4 GB

Bare minimum for solo play or testing the pack alone. Dinosaur AI and spawn logic will load, but you're close to the edge — a second player or a busy chunk can push you into stutter.

6 GB

The best starting point for most Jurassic Terror servers. This is where the pack's own dinosaur AI and spawn systems run comfortably for a small group without constantly watching memory usage.

8 GB

Safer for a mid-size, active group. Gives the AI and world generation more headroom when several players are exploring and triggering encounters at once.

12 GB

For 10+ players or a long-running world. At this size you've got multiple active dinosaur AI threads and a larger explored map to keep loaded, so the extra headroom avoids slowdowns during busy nighttime sessions.
