Free migration tool

Move your Minecraft server to CoalHost in 5 minutes.

Coming from Apex, Bisect, or Shockbyte? Upload your world, we'll detect your modpack, you keep your builds and player data. EU hardware, simple €2 / GB pricing, no support ticket required.

Three hosts we migrate from

Apex Hosting

Tired of US-only latency or padded tier pricing? Bring your world over and keep playing.

BisectHosting

Modpack works on Bisect but the panel keeps locking up? Same .mrpack, faster panel.

Shockbyte

Outgrew the entry-tier RAM cap? Pay only for the GB you actually need.

Coming from a host we didn't list? Pick "Other" on the upload form — the import works regardless.

How it works

  1. 1

    Export your world

Open your current host's file manager and download world/ as a .zip. Optionally grab mods/ too if you're running a modpack.

  2. 2

    Upload it to CoalHost

On /servers/new click 'Migrating from another host?' and drop in your world.zip (and mods.zip if you have it).

  3. 3

    We detect your modpack

Modrinth's hash database tells us which mods you're running. If your mod folder matches a known modpack, we'll pre-fill it.

  4. 4

Pick RAM + region, hit create

Standard CoalHost setup — same simple €2/GB pricing, EU hardware, 30-second deploy. Your world replaces the auto-generated one on first boot.

FAQ

Do I lose my player data?

No. Your world folder includes player NBT data, inventories, ender chests, advancements — everything except server-side mod configs. Those get re-generated by the modpack install on CoalHost.

What if my world.zip is bigger than 5 GB?

Most worlds fit. If yours is bigger (long-running ATM10 / Create-heavy SMP / a year of region files), email us — we'll set up a direct rsync.

Can you detect any modpack?

We hash every .jar in your mods.zip and look it up on Modrinth. CurseForge-only packs can still be picked by name on the next screen — the upload is the same.

What happens to my CoalHost server's auto-generated world?

We rename it to world.before-migration-<timestamp> so you can roll back if anything looks off. Nothing is overwritten irreversibly.
